William S. Cohen

William S. Cohen is a noteworthy politician and novelist from America, who likes to write mystery, suspense, thriller, and nonfiction books. As a politician, he has first served House of Representatives & Senate of the US and then as the Defense Secretary under the rule of office of Bill Clinton. For the purpose of developing the plots of his books as an author, he uses his experience of working towards defense planning and international affairs. Author Cohen has written a few standalone books in his career as well as a thriller series featuring the chief protagonist Sean Falcone. He has also penned several nonfiction novels and a poetry collection. The career of author Cohen in fiction writing started in the year 1985 with the book titled Double Man. Cohen followed it up by another one in the next year with the title A Baker’s Nickel. The first nonfiction book written by him is called Getting the Most Out of Washington. Cohen’s Sean Falcone books are quite well known in the thriller genre. Their tremendous success has had a great impact on Cohen’s career as he climbed the ladders of success and helped himself in getting included among the noteworthy authors. Author Cohen was born on August 28, 1940, in Bangor, Maine, U.S. His father was a Jewish immigrant from Russia, named Reuben Cohen, while his mother belonged to the ancestry of Protestant Irish and was named Clara Harltey. Cohen’s parents were the owners of the Bangor Rye Bread Company. Author Cohen completed his school education in 1958 from the Bangor High School. Following this, he joined the Bowdoin College and graduated cum laude in 1962 with a BA degree in the Latin subject. When Cohen was a student in the college, he was included as a brother in Psi Upsilon Fraternity’s Kappa chapter. During his school and college days, author Cohen used to play basketball very much. He was a famous player of this game was listed in the basketball team of the all state high school & college of Maine. While in college, author Cohen was named among the All Star Hall of Fame of New England. After his graduation from college, Cohen started studying law at the School of Law in Boston University and graduated cum laude in 1965 with a degree in Bachelor of Laws. After obtaining his law degree, Cohen became a partner at a law firm in Bangor. Cohen was appointed as an assistant attorney for the Penobscot County and served between 1968 and 1970. In 1968, author Cohen joined Bangor’s Husson College as an instructor. Later, he joined the Maine University as a business administration instructor. Cohen was the vice president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of Maine until 1972. He was also a fellow at the JF Kennedy Politics Institute at the Harvard University. In the same year, he was elected into Bangor’s City Council and served as Mayor for a year.
