Vorkosigan
The Vorkosigan series is a series of short stories and science fiction novels written by the well known American novelist Lois McMaster Bujold. There is a total of 16 novels and 6 short stories published in the series between the years 1986 and 2015. All the novels of the series are set in a fictional universe and are based on the romance, space opera, and science fiction genres. Author Lois McMaster Bujold has received a number of awards and nominations in her writing career because of the success of the novels of the series. She has particularly won the Hugo award for three times in her career. As author Bujold kept publishing new novels in the series, a lot of variations were seen in her approaches and she has even crossed the genres of the plot of the novels for several times. There is a great deal of mixture of comedy and humor in the novels of the Vorkosigan series, which are sometimes shown as very black and juxtaposed with some tragic losses and deaths. Bujold has also tried to mix military adventure, romance, political thriller, and the whodunit in a variety of proportions throughout the series. The main characters in the series include a few women, a gay man named Ethan and the pair of brothers Mark and Miles Vorkosigan. The primary female characters of the series include Cordelia and Ekaterin. Some of the novels in the series also feature the cousin of Vorkosigan brothers named Ivan Vorpatril. There are also less important characters featured throughout the Vorkosigan series.
