Violetta Rand

Violetta RandGrowing up in Corpus Christi, Texas, Violetta Rand spent her childhood playing soccer, reading, and writing. After she met her husband in New England, they moved to Alaska where she studied environmental science and policy as an undergraduate before she went to grad school. Violetta then spent almost a decade working as an environmental scientist, specializing in water and soil contamination and environmental assessments.
