Tricia Levenseller

Tricia Levenseller is an American young adult novelist most popular for writing the “Daughter of the Pirate King” series of novels. She is originally from small town Oregon, though she currently lives in the Rocky Mountains of Utah with Rosy her ultra-bossy dog. She has a bachelor in Editing and English Language, and is just thrilled never to have to deal with textbooks ever again. When she is not reading or writing she loves playing volleyball, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and watching her fantasy and historical TV shows while snacking on popcorn. Her debut novel was “Daughter of the Pirate Queen” first published in 2017. Growing up, her heroines were the women in her life that included her aunt, grandmother, and mother who are still her heroines. These women are some of the strongest and most talented individuals she knows and is very close to, and hence it is not surprising that she wrote her debut novel featuring a strong female protagonist. As she grew older and got into books, she was inspired by the likes of Robin LaFevers, Rae Carson, Richelle Mead, Suzanne Collins, Tamora Pierce, and J.K. Rowling. The author write rounded out characters that inspired her to write a female character that had some of the best of female and male traits. She also derived much of the inspirations for her lead protagonist Alosa from Rose Hathaway of “Vampire Academy”. The strong, fierce, sharp witted, hit first ask questions later character has the most in common with Alosa.
