Tom Harper is the pen name used by the well known German born English novelist Edwin Thomas, for writing thriller and historical fiction novels. He is has successfully written the Demetrios Askiates series and the Martin Jerrold series. Along with these, he has also written a few standalone novels, which have also gone on to become extremely successful. Author Harper was born in the year 1977 in Frankfurt, Germany, but spent most of growing up days in Connecticut and Belgium. The graduation of author Harper was completed from the Lincoln College Oxford in the subject of history. After his the completion of his studies, author Harper began working for several part time jobs in order to earn his living. All the during the initial few years of his career, his primary focus was writing. In order to take a major step forward with respect to his writing career, author Harper entered into the CWA Dagger Debut Contest. Even though he ended up being the runner up, he had received the necessary exposure that motivated him to continue with his dream job. He went on to become a published author in the year 2003 with the publication of his debut novel. It was titled as ‘The Blighted Cliffs’ and was written by author Harper under his original name, Edwin Thomas. The first novel that he wrote under the pseudonym was published in the year 2004 under the title ‘The Mosaic of Shadows’. In all, author Harper has penned down 11 historical thriller novels so far, all of which have been translated into as many as 20 foreign languages worldwide.
