Miss Read was a best-selling author who made the idea of an English village school as a safe and sane haven for the population that grew up after the 2nd world war. A majority of the books were authored under Dora Paint’s pen name, miss read. As a highly accomplished author, miss read has passed away at the age of 98. Dora took her penname from her mother’s name. The fictional story’s which were based on Dora’s Saint real life experiences, appeared each year for a total of 4 decades from the 1950’s.
