Terry Mixon

Terry Mixon is a Texan science fiction author best known for the “Empire of Bones Saga” series. He loves to describe himself as a middle-aged guy that works as computer support for flight controllers at the Mission Control at the Johnson Space Center. His job includes ensuring that the people supporting manned space flights have everything they need to monitor the critical aspects of the operation of the International Space Station. Before he started working for the Space Center, he served in the US Army as a non commissioned officer during the 1980s. As a member of the 101st Airborne, he was a scout and helicopter crew chief of the hunter-killer teams. Mixon flew and performed maintenance for the helicopter that found targets for the aircraft. Unlike other authors who know they are destined for a career in writing from a very young age, he decided to become a professional author very late in life. It was not until he was in his forties that he began writing though he had been a voracious reader before that. Whenever he read a bad novel, he always told himself that he could have down better and finally decided to write his own novels. It all started when a friend of his sent him a draft of a story he was working on and this gave him the motivation to do something too. Terry published his debut novel “Empire of Bones” the first of the “Empire of Bones Saga” in 2014 and has been publishing since.
