Stephen Harding is a well known defense journalist who also has written some books. He became a defense journalist after years of service as an Army man. He has covered extensively on conflicts in Middle East, Ireland and Iraq. He is a prolific writer and has written 8 books and more than 300 articles in reputed magazines. He has been a senior editor of the magazine Military history for over 4 years now. He has written for Soldiers magazine (Official magazine of the US army) for over 2 decades. He has written in other magazines such as Smithsonian, Air Enthusiast, Air and Space Magazine etc. Stephen Harding is originally Camarillo, California and currently resides in Northern Virginia. His latest book The Last Battle: When U.S. and German Soldiers Joined Forces in the Waning Hours of World War II in Europe have received favorable reviews. This explores the final battle during World War II in Europe. This is his eight non-fiction book. His books and articles are a great source to research on little known aspects of world military. He has written books on diverse aspects of army including Air force, navy and land army. He also explored incidents which are quite interesting and deserve more attention. Some of his books are very well known where as others not that famous in the mainstream. He is one of the few authors who have real world military experience. He is known to have flown in Black Hawks, survived tank rollovers and even encountered snipers during his military days.
