Stephen E. Ambrose

1936 – 2002

Stephen E. Ambrose was one of the popular biographer and historian of America, who has written many popular manuscripts in his writing career. He is particularly famous for writing down the biographies of the former United States Richard Nixon and Dwight Eisenhower. Before taking up writing as a career, author Ambrose used to work as a longtime history professor at the New Orleans University. His written works also include a number of bestselling novels based on the popular history of America. Ambrose was born on January 10, 1936 in Lovington, Illinois and died on October 13, 2002, in Bate St. Louis, Mississippi, United States. Some of the most famous works of author Ambrose include the Band of Brothers series, which was also adapted into a television series in the year 2001. Almost all his written works were rich in historical details about America as well as the wartime situations. Even the biographies of the U.S. Presidents that author Ambrose wrote were considered great by many scholars at that time. But, during the end phase of Ambrose’s life and also after his death, several reports and evidenced began surfacing, which documented long term patterns of inaccuracies and plagiarism in a number of his published works as well as others.
