Sarah Andrews

Sarah Andrews is a popular author and geologist from America, who has written 12 mystery novels based on science and a few short stories. A number of her novels feature the chief protagonist as Em Hansen, who has been described by Sarah as a straight talking and clear thinking forensic geologist. The books of Em Hansen are set in the regions of Rocky Mountains. Author Sarah has been lauded for combining detective work and science in her books. In 2005, she received the Writers and Artists grant from the NSF and was deployed through the McMurdo Station in Antartica to the distant field camps in order to carry out research for writing her 11th book that features the fictional geologist named Valena Walker. Author Sarah has won many other prizes in her career for her writing works, including the President’s Medal and the Journalism Award from the Petroleum Geologists Association of America. Author Sarah spent her initial years growing up on the American East Coast. Her father used to work as an art teacher and artist, while her mother was a teacher of comparative religions and English. Since Sarah was a child, she had developed a passion to explore things outdoors. She used to sail with her dad and wander alone in the fields and woods at the time of the family summer holidays in Maine. Author Sarah moved out of New England for attending the Colorado College. While attending a class of creative writing, she noticed that she had an interest in storytelling. Later, her aunt inspired her to take up geology course. This course proved to be very useful for her as she found herself in the company of the people who used to think like her.
