Roz Chast

Roz ChastRosalind Chast was born November 26, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. She grew up in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, the only child of Elizabeth (an assistant principal in an elementary school) and George Chast (a high school Spanish and French teacher). Her Jewish parents were kids during the Great Depression, and she’s spoken at length about their extreme frugality.
