Roger Lea MacBride

Roger Lea MacBride was a renowned American writer, lawyer, television producer, and political figure. He was popular for writing children’s books and nonfiction stories. MacBride was particularly well known for writing the continuation of the Little House series, which was originally written by the popular 20th-century author Laura Ingrid Wilder. In the original series, Laura has described the real-life adventures of her own life, while in the series penned by MacBride, he has described the adventures of Laura’s daughter, Rose Wilder. Author MacBride was a member of the Libertarian Party and was its presidential nominee during the 1976 election. He was the first presidential elector in the history of American politics to have cast his vote for a female candidate. In the 1972 presidential election, MacBride had voted for John Hospers for the post of president and Theodora Nathan for vice president. Both these candidates were the also members of his Libertarian Party. MacBride was highly famous as the co-producer and co-creator of the children’s TV series called Little House on the Prairie.
