Robin Jones Gunn

Robin Jones Gunn is a young adult, Christian and contemporary fiction author best known for the “Christy Miller” series that have developed something of a cult following. Her bestselling novels have sold millions of copies all over the world and won a number of awards. She has been the winner of the Gold Medallion Award and three Christy Awards. When she was in the first grade, her teacher said that she did not grasps basic mathematical concepts though she could keep all the class entertained with her story telling. Several years later, her husband noticed that she still had a flair for storytelling. He encouraged her to take classes and attend writer conferences. It was from these that she began reading published children’s books, interviews with authors, articles and devotions. Gunn’s career took a turn when she took a camping trip with her church youth group. She got very concerned when she learned what the teens were reading. The 13 year olds said that if she wanted them to read better books perhaps she should write them. She accepted the challenge and set out to write some young adult novels that would be good for Christian teenagers.
