Ranulph Fiennes
Ranulph Fiennes is a noteworthy British novelist, explorer, poet, and travel writer. He has a number of endurance records to his name. Ranulph has been honored with an OBE for his dedicated service in the British Army. His service lasted for 8 periods, during which he was once stationed on a counter-insurgency service in an attachment to the Sultanate of Oman’s Army. After leaving the army, Ranulph started undertaking expeditions. He is said to be the first person to have visited the South and North Poles by surface means. Ranulph is also the first one to have traveled on foot and crossed Antartica. In 2009, Ranulph climbed the Mount Everest at 65 years of age. Ranulph was born as Ranulph Twisleton-Wykeham-Fiennes. His birth took place on March 7, 1944, in Windsor, Berkshire, England. Ranulph’s father was a Lieutenant Colonel, who died 4 months before his birth.
