She likes to write her books mostly on a wide range of subjects ranging from parenting guides for raising children to cooking as well as other interesting activities. The first novel series written by author Warner features the lead character Connor Westphal, who is depicted as a deaf reporter working in the Gold Country in California. This series helped her to win the Macavity Award in the category of the Best First Book of Mystery. The series was also nominated for the Anthony and Agatha Awards.
