Naguib MahfouzNaguib Mahfouz was born December 11, 1911 in Cairo, Khedivate of Egypt and won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988. He is regarded as one of the first contemporary writers in Arabic Literature to explore themes of existentialism. He’s the only Egyptian to ever win the Nobel in Literature.
