Michael Scott is well known Irish author who has given tremendous contributions to literature through his novels based on the fantasy, horror and young adult genres. He was born on September 28, 1959 in Dublin, Ireland. Apart from writing the fantasy novels under his real name, he also uses a pen name for writing the novels based on romance and science fiction genres. Since he started writing novels professionally as an author, he never stopped and has published at least one book each year and has now completed 25 years in this profession. He has now become one of the most prolific and successful authors of Ireland. It is said that Michael has more than 100 titles to his credit under various genres in his writing career. The novels written by him have been published in more than 38 countries of the world and in the categories of both the adults and the young adults. His novels have also been translated into more than 20 languages all over the world. Michael possesses a huge collection of the Irish Folk and Fairy Tales, Irish Ghosts and Hauntings and the Irish Myths and Legends. These collections of Michael have continuously remained in print for more than 20 years and have also been included in the most-quoted and definitive works related to the subject. For his excellent works, Michael is considered to be one of the authorities of Celtic lands’ folklore. He is also the main reason behind the resurgence of the interest of people in the Irish subjects during the mid 1980s.
