Michael Kurland
Michael Kurland is an author of more than 30 novels in a variety of genres. His works range from non-fiction topics such as amateur radio, espionage, criminal law, forensic science, history of crime in America. His novels have made the “Writers’ Digest Book Club,” the “Junior Literary Guild,” the“ Readers’ Digest Book Club,” and the “Military Book Club.” He has written a ton of fantasy and science fiction novels the most notable of which are “A Study in Sorcery” set in the Angevin Empire by Randall Garrett, the Hugo nominated “The Unicorn Girl,” and the “Ten little Wizards.” In recent years, he has focused on the writing of mysteries with his main work the Professor Moriarty series. The first of the series “The Infernal Device” was nominated for the American Book Award and an Edgar Award. “The Girls in the High Heeled Shoes” and “Too Soon Dead” are set in the 1930s and have New York World columnist Alexander Brass as the lead character. A few of his novels such as “Button-Bright” and “The Last President” have been described into the nondescript mainstream category. His idiosyncratic historical novel “Irrefutable Evidence” which analyzes the development of Forensic Science has been very popular in Europe. His novels have been translated into Swedish, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Italian, Hungarian, German, French, Danish, Czech, and Chinese.
