Margaret Peterson Haddix
1964
Margaret Peterson Haddix is an American author of fiction, born in the year 1964, Margaret Haddix lived her childhood on a farm in Ohio, but even at that early time in her life she wanted to be an author. It seems at that time she believed it to be more of a super hero type career, not one that anyone she actually knew did. Margaret’s father was a farmer; he raised many types of grains (corn, wheat, etc.) and also raised livestock. She grew up with her parents (her mother worked as a nurse) and her two brothers and one sister. Margaret went to college in Ohio also, Miami University (yes, really in Ohio!), she studied history, English, Journalism, and creative writing. Margaret held several different writing jobs before she began writing novels full time; she was a copy editor and also a reporter for two different newspapers in Indiana, and worked teaching at a community college and as a freelance writer in Illinois. Margaret has lived in a few places in Indiana and Ohio, one place in Pennsylvania, and in college spent one semester in Luxembourg. She now lives in Columbus Ohio; she is married and also has a son and a daughter.
