Louise Rennison

1951 – 2016

Louise Rennison was one of the most popular and award winning author from England. She was particularly famous for writing down the teenage girl series titled ‘Confessions of Georgia Nicolson’. Apart from being an author, Louise was also a well known comedian. The bestselling written by author Louise deals about the exploits of the teenage girl named Georgia Nicolson and her best friends from the Ace Gang. The first couple of books from the series was adapted into a movie title as ‘Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging’. Author Louise also wrote a separate series of novels about the younger cousin of Georgia Nicolson. The one-woman concert show of Louise known as Stevie Wonder Felt My Face, helped her to win critical acclaim during the 1980s. After the success of this show, author Louise went on to do a couple of other live shows. Louise was born on October 11, 1951 in Leeds, England; and died on February 29, 2016. She grew up in Leeds, Yorkshire, along with her mother, father, uncle, aunt, cousin, and grandparents. Her house was a 3 bedroom council house, which was big enough to accommodate the big joint family of author Louise. She did her schooling from the Parklands High School, which was an all girls school. Author Louise later credited the school to have inspired her to become a comedic writer.
