Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian author of children’s literature, best known for herAnne of Green Gablesseries. The Anne of Green Gables series was adapted into several films, a TV series, cartoons and musicals. Her work, diaries and letters have been studied by both scholars and readers across the globe. Two of her houses and some of the nearby area have been designated National Historic Sites of Canada. Maud died from coronary thrombosis in 1942.
