Holly Chamberlin resides in Portland Maine together with her husband Stephen who is a photographer, architect, and a well-established food writer. During her free time, Chamberlin loves to read the works of various authors such as Patrick McGrath and Peter Ackroyd. Despite the fact that Holly Chamberlin was born in the Bronx she later moved to Manhattan and Brooklyn. Holly Chamberlin attained her graduate and undergraduate degrees from New York University. After completing her graduate course, Holly Chamberlin worked as an editor at Ballantine Books, a publishing and packaging company, Kensington Publishing Corporation and Daniel Weiss Associates. Most of the times, she acquired and developed projects which were mostly fiction in young adult and adult categories.
