Brian Shea
Brian Shea is a bestselling and award-winning American author best known for the “Nick Lawrence” and “Rachel Hatch” series of novels. Shea spent much of his life in service to the local community and his country. He was in the US Navy, where he served for several years before he retired and went on to work for more than ten years in the police. As a police officer, he served for more than a decade in Connecticut and Texas and rose to the rank of Detective. In between the careers, he was also a fifth-grade school teacher which he did for five years. He has said that even as he spent much of his life in the armed forces, he was always in love with books. He first fell in love with reading when he read “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hniton. Since then, he has read a ton of novels in the mystery and military fiction genre from the likes of James Patterson, Tom Clancy, Lee Child, Jeffrey Deaver, and David Baldacci. Shea thought it was hard to become an author since he was employed as a full-time detective. It was James Patterson that showed him it was possible to work full time and still be an author. He published his debut novel, “Kill List,” in 2018 and has never looked back since. He uses his experience handling crime against children, in SWAT and narcotics in creating the settings, characters, and circumstances in his novels. He currently lives with his wife and three children in New England.
