Anne George was one of the popular authors from America who has written a number of highly successful books based on the thriller, suspense, detective fiction, and mystery genres. She was also fond of writing poems and has contributed with a few interesting ones in her writing career. In fact, Anne was a state poet of Alabama, Unites States in the year 1994. Author Anne was born as Anne Carroll Bell on December 14, 1927, in Montgomery, Alabama, The United States. Her death occurred on March 27, 2001, in Birmingham, Alabama, due to the complications arising from a heart surgery. In her writing career, she had won several Agath Awards for her popular and successful novels. As a poet, she had achieved the feat of becoming the State Poet of Alabama. She has said that this achievement was very special to her as poetry was something very close to her heart. Anne liked writing poetry more than she liked to write mystery novels. During the later stages of her writing career, author Anne went on to lay the foundation of the Druid Press as a co-founder. Anne used to regularly contribute to the poetry and literary publications until her death. Her writing career had become even more colorful because of her the prestigious awards that she won and was nominated for. Among the prestigious literary awards that author Anne was nominated for in her writing career was a Pulitzer Prize. She was nominated for this award for her book of verses known as ‘Some of It Is True’. This book was published by the Curbow Publications in the year 1993 and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in the same year. Author Anne had become a popular novelist due to the success of her mystery book series titled ‘Southern Sisters’. One of the novels in this series helped author Anne get honored her first Agatha Award.
