Alex Gray is one of the well known authors of the crime fiction, mystery, and thriller genres. She hails from Scotland and has published some of the very successful novels in the popular crime fiction genre. Author Gray was born on May 27, 1950, in Glasgow, Scotland. All the crime fiction that she has written in her career as set in and around Glasgow. Also, all of them feature the popular character developed by her, named Detective Chief Inspector Lorimer. The successful novels of author Gray also feature the famous character of psychological profiler, named Solomon Brightman. All her books are published under a single series called as the DCI Lorimer series. The earlier books in this series were published by the Canongate publication, whereas the later ones were published by the Little Brown publication. Apart from the crime fiction novels, author Gray has also written a few articles for some famous magazines. Author Gray was born and brought up in the Craigbank region of Glasgow. There, she attended the Hutcheson’s Grammar School. The father of author Gray used to work as a telecommunications engineer, whereas her mother used to be a telephone exchange operator. Her mother originally hailed from the Tobermory, on the Isle of the Mull. Later, author Gray enrolled herself at the Strathclyde University and studied the subjects of Philosophy and English.
